Video loop with one szene of Hannah Arendt rubbing her eyes (during an interview with Günter Gaus "Zur Person" from Oct. 28, 1964) and one scene of Adolf Eichmann cleaning his glasses (in his booth in the Jerusalem trial) are juxtaposed. The opposition in the video is significant - she is rubbing her eyes like crazy, he cleans his second glasses in a pedantic way. By addressing them as close relatives implies common aspects of them in each of us. They express opposite ways of (not) seeing and being eager or not to understand.

In the gas purification plant with its huge carbon filters, the visitor reads the alarming word "gazé" and encounters a short black-and-white video from 1918 from the Imperial War Museum London showing British soldiers temporarily blinded by German mustard gas with blindfolds on their eyes. They move slowly forward in a queue, each with their hand on the shoulder of the person in front. In this metaphor of war, breathing correlates with blindness and points to the connection between breathing and perception, which is proverbial in the term "inspiration".

Video loop, 20Sec

British 55th (West Lancashire) Division troops blinded by tear gas await treatment at an Advanced Dressing Station near Bethune during the Battle of Estaires, 10 April 1918, part of the German offensive in Flanders.
